Crews have been hard at work the last two weeks to get the site ready at Whittier Elementary as construction begins on the school replacement project. 

The project is at 90% design, a term that indicates how close the project is to a complete design. As part of this step, the team is working through final permits with the city of Fircrest before beginning construction. Crews on the ground are removing old materials and preparing to begin clearing and grading the exact footprint of the new building.
